Hiring Process

Our Hiring Process is 5 Easy Steps:
1. Review Current Opportunities
Begin by looking through the current opportunities at SMS Equipment. Review the qualifications required and identify positions you feel will match with your experience.
2. Submit Your Resume
Apply for the role(s) you are interested in by submitting your cover letter and resume, quoting the corresponding job reference number(s). Applications may be submitted by fax or email using the contact details provided in the job posting.
3. Interview and Pre-Employment Testing
Resumes submitted for a job posting will be screened to identify candidates whose skills, education and experience meet the requirements of the open position. Short listed candidates will be contacted by a member of our Human Resources team for a preliminary discussion. The selection process will comprise of pre-employment testing as well as additional interviews.
4. Reference Checks
As a part of our hiring process, a member of the hiring panel will conduct reference checks. Please be prepared to provide us with three work-related references, preferably from supervisors that you have worked with in the past.
5. Selection Decision
The hiring panel will take into consideration all the information received during the hiring process, and select the candidate who is best suited for the role. A hiring team member will contact the successful candidate to extend an employment offer. If you are not selected for a particular position, please do not be discouraged. New job opportunities open frequently and your qualifications may make you a candidate for another role.
